Jérémy Gobé is a visual artist whose work focuses on the unique work-related gestures of human beings. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where his final year pieces “Monument aux mains 1” and “Monument aux mains 2” were designed using offcuts of felt donated by employees from a factory near his parents’ home.
Once sewn and rolled, the organic shapes of scrap felt became a tribute to the employees who had been laid off. He derives his inspiration from multiple, chance encounters and from whatever he finds in his path, from abandoned pieces of fabric to lost items, to which he gives a new glory.
