Yesenia Thibault-Picazo is a French-born multidisciplinary designer and musician – she currently lives and works in London. Defining herself as a ‘Material Teller’, Yesenia explores the narrative potential of materials. Her work is situated at the junction between craft practices and environmental concerns is informed by interdisciplinary collaborations. She often collaborates with experts such as geologists, anthropologists, oceanographers and artisans, using design as a powerful tool of investigation for understanding our Relationship with nature. In 2012, she co-founded the art direction and moving image studio IMMATTERS with Hélène Combal-Weiss. Yesenia graduated from Duperré School in Paris (2011) and holds an MA from Material Futures at Central Saint Martins, London (2013). Since then, her work is presented in international institutions (V&A London, Les Abattoirs–FRAC Midi-Pyrénées, Deutsches Museum de Munich) and design events (Londres, Milan, Eindhoven). Trained from a young age to classic music, Yesenia composes electronic and acoustic music, plays on various instruments. She is part of the collective Green Cats, Babies!
